B2B Project - Innovative Economy- 8.2


Project Description

Project target was to implement a new communication system based on SharePoint Server, SQL Server and Exchange Server. Integrated servers created platform which gave possibility of automatic data exchange and task coordination between partners. Cooperation was based on the model of virtual enterprise in which used electronic systems allowed to exchange information / data and to prepare / present proposals investment proposals for clients. The fact of partners being in different physical locations, does not have practical significance because, the dedicated network enabled Extranet for electronic services. Such virtual enterprise, despite geographical dispersion fact, was perceived by the customer as one economic organism. Automatic electronic communication between partners was accomplished via two-way transmission standard (EDI - Electronic Data Interchange). The system:

  • facilitated the supervision of the workflow, management and resource reservation between cooperating companies,
  • improved work,
  • provided access to personalized web site for partners.

 

Planned activities necessary for the implementation of B2B were divided into the following stages:

Step 1 - Purchase of equipment - this phase, which lasted two months, was the first step of the project. Goal was to made a purchase of hardware and software necessary to implement the B2B system. That included purchase of solid and liquid assets (software). Also consulting services were bought in order to make correct choices of resources needed to design and implement the system.

Step 2 - Preparation of B2B implementation. This stage lasted four months, and was aimed for preparing B2B implementation. That included:

  • purchase of analyzes on the matching B2B characteristics with companies infrastructure
  • purchase of consultancy services on application engineering and theoretical system planning
  • purchase of expert services in the field of business processes re-engineering.

 

Stage 3 - Implementation of B2B. This stage lasted four months, and was aimed on installation and configuration of system software and applications. During this period system was tested and commissioned. Stable version of B2B system was developed.

Stage 4 - Promotion of B2B. This phase, lasted two months, and was aimed at promoting the project and the B2B system.
