eLearning: eLearning and Social Inclusion for People with Disability - e-Ability
Project Description
The aim of the project was to identify and disseminate best practices to promote digital skills among people with disabilities, with particular emphasis on those suffering from mental disability. Project activities were focused to show the appropriate ways and means for people who are fighting with the so-called "digital division". One of the results of this project is a guide that shows examples of good practices collected in different European countries. These practices are used in information society integration of people at risk of social exclusion. Some of those good practices had been divided into thematic groups focused on specific aspects related to inclusion in the digital society. They took into account lack of suitable IT training for disabled people, touched the issue of discrimination based on disability, and showed examples of campaigns which increased awareness about information society among people with disabilities. Another important result of this project was a Virtual Office that serve as an information gathering point. All information about initiatives took to assist disabled people are collected in one place. Virtual Office automatically sent out messages, to notify about variety of activities.
