Project description
The activities during project were aimed at helping in the integration process of immigrants in the partner countries. In the first year of the project partners developed a questionnaire and conducted a survey among immigrants concerning their social, economic and personal status. The aim was also to gain knowledge about the immigrants educational needs. Report created during research served as the basis for language training programs development. Trainings were different in different countries. For example, in Poland the most helpful was a Polish language course while in other countries, immigrants choose other native language trainings. Developed courses were tested among groups of immigrants, and their evaluation by the participants was very positive. In addition to creating a dedicated training for immigrants, the project was designed to propagate the idea of organizing the Intercultural Days which showed derivation and cultural origins. Such days were held several times in each country and were an opportunity learn but also to relax. In the third year of the project it Intercultural Days were launched at the same time and that allowed participants from different countries to contact through the Internet. This element proved to be a good idea and an interesting experience. Partners also gather key information about the legal aspects of living and working conditions of immigrants in each country. This information was placed on the project website.
