LearnIT
Project description
LearnIT project was realized under the Lifelong Learning Program. It was an Innovation Transfer project. The main objective was to transfer and update (extend the functionality and adapt content) of two products derived previously under different Leonardo da Vinci projects. On that basis an innovative training system was created. System is available anytime from anywhere, for professionals working in the field of ICT in SMEs .
This system was developed as a result of:
- Leonardo da Vinci TALAS project - training and methodology was transferred and adapted in form of m-learning for PDA device. The m-learning delivered via popular mobile phones in the form of condensed 'training pills' was supported by e-learning system environment and was dedicated for IT staff in SMEs. This resulted in removing barrier to access professional IT training by staff from SMEs, which were expensive and held in large cities. With the methodology of the m-learning, IT professionals were able to repeat materials whenever they wanted.
- training book "Technical English" content transfer. Book was created under the previously implemented Leonardo da Vinci project, entitled ICTinSME. On this basis m-learning and e-learning modules were developed with additional new sections about computer networks. This way, IT professionals were able to learn networking, and also improve English technical aspects which are needed in working with advanced computer systems. Access to trainings via m-learning increasesd the efficiency of their work.
- "Women in IT" course creation. Course contained success stories of women working in the IT field. Content encouraged women to work as an IT specialists and resulted in increase number of women employed in the IT sector.
