Leonardo da Vinci: Tourism Management eLearning Solutions - TALAS 

Project Description 

TALAS project promoted innovative e-learning and m-learning through testing of new methodologies and approaches in tourism vocational training. A pilot course about "Tourism Management" was tested in a new dynamic learning environment. Project course was a concrete response to the lack of training concerning tourism hospitality subjects and lack of flexible learning opportunities for people working in this industry - both young and professionals. E-learning platform was integrated and flexible learning scenario with different learning objects such as video lessons, interactive animations, text and audio files. Multimedia and interactive materials on e-learning platform:

• promoted designed training paths,
• offered support to learners,
• enabled learning through experience,
• supported flexible and dynamic learning and teaching
• provided an on-line learning.

With the spread of wireless technologies, the participants benefited from the pilot course through m-learning solutions (mobile phones). M-learning portal allowed to efficiently transmit multimedia files which combine mobile and Internet technologies. Thanks to the project TALAS, vocational trainings were taking place "anytime, anywhere, however."
